Comedian Jardiel Sparks Laughter at a Walmart Parking Lot, Fans Joke: "Don't Come Back to Cuba"

Tuesday, May 20, 2025 by Isabella Sanchez

Cuban comedian Jardiel is once again stirring up laughter on social media with his latest video, which has already garnered hundreds of laughs. This time, the entertainer is seen dashing through a Walmart parking lot, not missing the chance to crack a joke typical of a Cuban: "Walmart has arrived in Marianao."

The video kicks off with a sign that reads "Marianao, Havana," which might momentarily mislead some viewers. However, it takes just a few seconds to realize that this place is far from being Cuba. The smooth roads, shiny cars, and absence of potholes, along with the giant Walmart logo in the background, give it away.

Jardiel then bursts into a sprint through the parking area, delivering the punchline of his sketch: "It's so nice to run here, no potholes in sight." Within minutes, his social media profile was flooded with comments.

Many jested about the unlikely prospect of seeing such a store in today's Cuba, while others were straightforward in telling him not to consider returning to the island.

The license plates on the cars seen in the video belong to the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, and some user comments suggest that Jardiel is in Cancún. He has yet to clarify whether this is merely a tourist visit, as he has traveled outside of Cuba on previous occasions and returned.
